Why We March

The Equality March for Unity and Pride San José is part of a national movement in support of equality for all led by the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer (LGBTQ+) community. June is typically a time to celebrate with pride, but much of what the LGBTQ+ and many other oppressed communities fought for is once again being challenged by some of our elected officials and community leaders.

Equality March San José is meant to encourage self expression and education on our political climate, while allowing our community to march in solidarity. The March will be followed by a rally with a line-up of diverse local speakers, community engagement tables, and readings of open letters.

Our Mission

We, the LGBTQ+ community, our allies, and loved ones, stand united against the hatred and bigotry that divide our nation. We march to defend inclusion, celebrate diversity, and ensure the equal protection of human rights for all regardless of age, nationality, socio-economic status, skin color, gender identity, immigration status, faith, disability, or sexual orientation.

Take Action

We need your help. Without your support we wouldn’t be able to hold Equality March San José. Your donations, volunteerism, social sharing, and presence is vital to making our message clear nationwide and even clearer to our elected officials.

Volunteer for Equality

We are seeking volunteers to help us with a variety of tasks: communications, customer service, fundraising, litter/recycling control, logistics, outreach, stage hands, and other helpful tasks. Learn how you can get involved and aid the movement.

Donate to Unite

A grassroots initiative, Equality March San José is dependent on donations by residents, organizations, social groups, and local businesses. If you can help the movement, we are seeking to raise $18,000 to secure permits and cover logistics expenses. Any reserve funds will be donated to local LGBTQ+ charities/nonprofits.

Apparel with Pride

Support the movement by purchasing commemorative Equality March San José apparel. Available in adult and youth sizes, apparel is quality and comfortable with a fashionable twist. Show your Pride and a portion of your purchase helps fund the event.
